Leeds Bradford MCCU alumni

It’s with a measure of pride that the Leeds Bradford MCCU alumni have included many international and county cricketers down the years.

Will Porterfield, who captained Ireland at the 2015 ICC World Cup attended Leeds/Bradford MCCU between 2004 and 2007.

Steve Patterson, a mainstay in Yorkshire County Cricket Club’s bowling attack, can trace his cricketing roots back to Weetwood too; as can England international seamer, Harry Gurney.

In fact, if you cast your eyes over the roster of county cricketers from the past ten years, it includes many who enjoyed their education with Leeds Bradford MCCU, juggling study books with cricket spikes.

In truth, the MCC’s university cricket academy in Yorkshire has produced many capable cricketers; not all of whom went on to play at the highest levels of the game but nonetheless are a rich part of our history.

Over time, we will build up an alumni section of the website so bear with us as we crunch the data and sift through the records.
